The CBCP-BEC  Committee

The Committee on Basic Ecclesial Communities was set up by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines after the BEC National Assembly in 2005 in Cebu. It is made up of a chairman and the heads of 8 episcopal commissions and assisted by an executive secretary and several consultants who work as a team.

The office assist the Bishops and their dioceses realize the vision of renewed church through the building of BECs. It serves as the facilitating center providing information on logistical support for BECs; assist in animating and strengthening BEC initiatives in different dioceses; coordinate national BEC activities and with other CBCP Commissions relative to BEC matters. The office of the committee has been in operation since 2007 and is located at the 3rd floor, Room 311, CBCP Building, Intramuros, Manila. The committee is funded by Missio. It is supported by the Bukal ng Tipan.
