On June 1, 2013, the diocese of Pasig held its Post-Pentecost BEC Assembly which was attended by some 250 delegates from the 27 parishes. This event which was held at the Aula Minor of the Pasig Catholic College in Pasig City started at 7:30 am with an opening liturgy. Fr Orly Cantillon – the diocesan BEC director – then gave the welcome remarks. The diocesan lay coordinator – Sis. Nene Concepcion then introduced the guest speaker – Fr. Amado Picardal, CSsR – who gave a talk on “BECs in the City.” An open forum followed, facilitated by Br Tony Alvarado. After the merienda break, the representatives from the four vicariates presented a series of skits that dramatized vignettes of their experience in promoting BECs in their respective communities. The event ended with the celebration of the Eucharist presided by Fr. Cantillon. Before the final blessing, the members of the diocesan BEC commission and the parish BEC formation teams formally affirmed their commitment to promote and form BECs in the diocese. Thus, by noon-time, the assembly ended.
