On May 26, 2013, the archdiocese of Manila held its 19th BEC assembly at the covered court of Paco Catholic School, Paco Manila, from 8 am to 12 noon. Over 600 delegates coming 58 parishes from the 13 vicariates of the archdiocese attended the event.

The objectives of the assembly were the following:

(1) to provide venue for BEC to expressed their fellowship (kapatiran)

(2) to celebrate the birth of the church thru meaningful liturgy

(3)  to come up with a comprehensive picture of BECs in Archdiocese of Manila (result of survey)

(4)  to listen and reflects on the significance of BECs in the Year of Faith and New Evangelization

The assembly began with the parade of banners, followed by roll call, opening prayer, welcome address, objective setting, distribution and filling up of survey questionnaire that deals with understanding, activities and forms of clustering of BECs, and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist with Fr. Eric Castro as main presider with 2 other concelebrants. The guest speaker of the assembly was  Fr. Eladio “Lads” Oliver, MSP who focused on the theme: ” Ang mga BEC Wastong Lugar at Pagkakataon ng Pananampalatayang Buhay.”

General assembly is a regular activity of the Ministry on BEC Formation and Promotion of the Archdiocese of Manila. The committee in charge for this activity is the Mobilization and Organizing committee of the Archdiocesan BEC Council.
