On November 16-17, 2012, over 150 BEC delegates including parish priests
coming from 30 parishes of the diocese of Daet gathered at the Carillon Hall in
the Diocesan Compound in Daet, Camarines Norte for the diocesan BEC convention.

The convention started at 1:30 pm on November 16 with a bible enthronement.
This was followed by a welcome address and orientation of Fr. Bong Rodelas, the
diocesan BEC director. The executive secretary of the CBCP-BEC committee, Fr.
Amado Picardal, CSsR, then delivered his message to the delegates. The
highlight of the afternoon’s session was the presentation of the findings of
the survey/evaluation by Rev. Rainier Abano. The survey was conducted over a
period of six months on the parishes with BECs. The respondents were members of
the BECs, parish lay leaders and the clergy. After the presentation of the
survey results, the open forum followed – with the delegates sharing their
response and reaction. The session ended with the closing liturgy at 5:30 pm.
The delegates were then brought to their respective foster families and some to
the diocesan social action center for the night’s lodging.

On the second day, the delegates listened to the presentation of Fr. Augusto
Angeles who talked about the “PCP II and BEC in the Diocese of Daet:
Historico-Pastoral Revisiting.” The second presentation was given by
Bishop Gilbert Garcera who talked about the “Year of Faith.”

After the lunch break, a workshop followed with the
delegates broken into small groups for discussion and planning. The convention
ended with a closing Mass presided by Bishop Gilbert Garcera at 3:00 pm.
