On October 20, 2012, over 2,200 BEC delegates coming from 26 parishes of the diocese of Digos gathered at the covered court of the Digos National High School to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the launching of the BEC pastoral program of the diocese.

The festivity started with a motorcade at 7:00 am, followed by the opening liturgy at 8:00 am. Afterwards, the representative of the city Mayor (Josep Penas) delivered the mayor’s message.

The guest speaker in the morning was Fr. Amado L. Picardal, the executive secretary of the CBCP-BEC committee. Following the talk at 10:15 am, various groups from the diocese sang their compositions about the BEC.

During lunch, a video presentation on the new saint, Pedro Calungsod, was shown. At 1:30 pm, the governor of Davao del Sur (Douglas Cagas) delivered his message. This was followed by the proclamation of the winners (BEC song compositions) and the awarding of prizes.

The guest speaker of the afternoon was Bishop George Rimand0 – the  chairman of the CBCP-BEC committee. The silver jubilee celebration culminated with the Eucharist, presided by Bishop Guillermo Afable – the bishop of Digos – and concelebrated by the clergy of Digos.
