From March 26 to 28, 2015, the clergy of the diocese of Talibon headed by the new bishop Most Reverend Daniel Patrick Parcon participated in the BEC seminar conducted by Fr. Amado Picardal, CSsR, the executive secretary of the CBCP-BEC Committee.
The objective of the BEC Seminar :
1. To have a clearer understanding of the nature and mission of Basic Ecclesial Communities grounded on the vision of a renewed Church of Vatican II & PCP II, with the emphasis of BEC as a way of life.
2. To understand the strategic framework for forming BECs: pre-requisites, strategic components: Evangelizing, Organizing and Mobilizing for Social Transformation, various approaches & models.
3. To grasp the connection between forming BECs & the ordained ministry, based on the Vatican II and PCP II perspective. Theme: a renewed clergy for renewed church, a new way of being priest for a new way of being church.
Immediately after the seminar, the Mass of the Chrism was celebrated at 5 pm.
The seminar is part of the process of adopting the formation of BECs as the pastoral thrust and priority of the diocese.
