The theme for the said celebration was, “BECs, PATULOY NA NAGLALAKBAY TUNGO SA KAGANAPAN NG BUHAY.” This event gathered BEC leaders and members from the twenty-eight parishes of the Diocese, who shared their faith-life experiences and encouraged each other as they continue on their journey towards fullness of life.
The main activities included the Diocesan BEC Ministry update by Fr. Ruben J. Maybuena, the priest minister; a talk by Msgr. Manny Gabriel, a renowned BEC practitioner and the advocate; the search for Diocesan BEC anthem from the representatives of the five vicariates. The concelebrated Eucharistic celebration was presided by His Excellency, Most Rev. Francisco de Leon, DD, the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Kalookan together with the parish priests capped the whole day activities. Animation songs and group games was interspersed the main activities.
The diocese decided to push through the activity despite the pains experienced by our sisters and brothers in the Visayas regions (Leyte, Samar, Cebu, Bohol, Panay Island, and Palawan) who survived the wrath of super typhoon Yolanda. During last meeting with the parish BEC coordinators, it was agreed that the offerings in cash or in kind on this day would be intended for the survivors as a collective effort to reach out to and be in solidarity with them.
