9TH Diocesan BEC Assembly: Diocese of Paranaque

On October 19, 2013, over 400 diocesan BEC leaders and members from six vicariates of the diocese of Paranaque gathered in St. Andrew School Gym in La Huerta, Paranaque city for their 9th Diocesan BEC Assembly.   The entire program focused on a theme: “Halina’t Pagsaluhan ang Biyayang Handog ng  Eukaristiya sa Sambayanan”.

BEC DAY REPORT By Fr. Willie P. Ramos:

  • DIOCESAN BEC UPDATES:

-          The Basic Ecclesial Communities is a pastoral priority of the Diocese.

-          The parishes with BECs are 44 out of 52.

-          The BECs in the Diocese has 620 cells.

-          No. of BEC formation and animation team is 22 teams.

 

  • Announcement of Diocesan BEC Logo Design Contest:

-          The winner is Vicariate of Sta. Rita de Cascia!

VICARIATE PRESENTATIONS:

  1. 1. Vicariate of St. Joseph

-          Rendered an interpretative dance entitled, “Who Am I?” by Casting Clown.

  1. 2. Vicariate of Sta. Rita de Cascia

-          Rendered a story telling presentation depicting the values of faith and trust to Jesus.

-          That their BEC in the vicariate is united. It’s like riding in one ship moving forward in one direction in a modern time. Their lives and their mission are centered in the Holy Eucharist and evangelization. An expression of faith wherever they go, they will uphold the values of prayer, sharing and caring the underprivileged, visiting the sick and prisoners; the center of all these actions are in the Holy Eucharist and word of God.

 

  1. 3. Vicariate of San Martin de Porres

-          Rendered an action song presentation “We are the Body of Christ”

-          They are together in a mission, Amen!

 

  1. 4. Vicariate of Our Lady of the Abandoned

-          Rendered an action song entitled, “ Handog”

-          They creatively proclaimed the Holy Eucharist as the main source of life and they are inspired to share the bread of life to others.

-          They ended the presentation with a prayer

 

  1. 5. Vicariate of San Antonio de Padua

-          Rendered a presentation depicted the BEC Day theme of “Halina’t Pagsaluhan Biyayang Handog ng Eukaristiya sa Sambayanan”

-          The message of the presentation is sharing the blessings of holiness, strength, life, hope, forgiveness, peace, love, healing, etc.

 

  1. 6. Vicariate of Holy Family

-          Rendered an interpretative dance  entitled, “Handog”

-          Their white costume reflects the divinity of Jesus who offers his life for us…

Each presentation conveyed a message and brought a smile to everyone. They acknowledged the best presentation categorically as:

3rd winner- Vicariate of Holy Family

2nd winner- Vicariate of Our Lady of the Abandoned

1st winner- Vicariate of San Martin de Porres

Aside of vicariate presentations, reports, Eucharistic celebration, inputs and inspirational talks by the speakers, there are many giveaways received by the participants in this assembly-almost one hundred gifts were raffled.

All enjoyed the entire program. The activities are such a combo meal that satisfied our stomach, but the joy and inspirations brought to us in that BEC Day is a happy meal that comes from God.
